Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra has been named in Argentina's 23-man squad for the Copa America, which could put him in the shop window for a departure from Vicarage Road.

The 28-year-old has come under criticism on numerous occasions this season, not scoring a single goal for the club in 2019, according to Transfermarkt.

Admittedly, he did provide the assist for Andre Gray to score the winner in their FA Cup quarter-final against Crystal Palace, but overall his notable contributions this year have been few and far between.

One recent rumoured transfer development about Pereyra concerns Italian side Torino, who have reportedly been after the player but now feel they don't stand a good chance of signing him as they failed to qualify for Europe (Calciomercato).

Pereyra, who had a chance to give his side an early lead in Saturday's FA Cup final only for Manchester City's Ederson to deny him, is one of four Premier League players included in the Albiceleste squad alongside Sergio Aguero, Nicolas Otamendi and Juan Foyth.

Here is what some Watford fans on Twitter made of his call-up:

The Copa America is due to get under way in Brazil on 14 June, with Argentina starting their campaign the following day against Colombia.
