Daryl Janmaat is open to leaving Watford this summer with a return to former club Feyenoord on the cards, according to The Standard.

The 34-time Netherlands international spent two years at Feyenoord between 2012 and 2014 before earning a move to the Premier League with Newcastle United.

And, after a further two seasons at St James’ Park, Janmaat arrived at Vicarage Road. Watford paid £7.5 million for the 29-year-old (Sky) – though with a plethora of other defensive options available to head coach Javi Gracia, his game time has dried up of late.

Janmaat made just 18 Premier League appearances for The Hornets in 2018/19 and he was left out of the starting XI for the FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday.

As a result, The Standard reports that Janmaat is considering his future with Feyenoord keen to take the right-sided defender back to De Kuip.

Janmaat, who started his career at Feyenoord as a youngster, is fully aware however that the 2017 Eredivisie champions need to raise funds via player sales before they could afford to strike a deal with Watford.
