Tottenham Hotspur have a big summer ahead of them in regards to the transfer window.

Eric Bailly of Manchester United warms up before the Premier League match between Manchester United and Chelsea FC at Old Trafford on April 28, 2019 in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has had a knack of taking a players career to another level, whether they are a youngster, well-established player or have been struggling for a number of years.

Could he do the same with Manchester United's Eric Bailly

The Daily Star recently claimed that Pochettino is keen on the Ivory Coast international and they are willing to go head-to-head with their North London rivals Arsenal for his signature.

When Bailly initially moved to Old Trafford from Spanish club Villareal during the summer of 2016, he arrived with big expectations and looked the part straight away.

But in recent years, injuries, lack of game time and form has resulted in his Manchester career going the wrong way and it won't be a surprise if he parts ways with his club in the summer.

There is no doubt that Bailly has an abundance of talent in his locker, he just needs patience and belief to bring it all out. Surely there's only one manager for that?

Pochettino has turnaround around the career of Moussa Sissoko and there's no reason why he can't do the same with centre-back Bailly if he were to make the switch to Spurs

Added with that, the 25-year-old, who earns £80,000-a-week at United [Spotrac], still has plenty of time to prove his worth in his career as he is yet to even touch his peak years.

If he signs for Spurs and Pochettino can bring the best out of him then he won't just be a top quality performer for the club, but he has the capabilities to be one of the best defenders in the league.
