The Citizens and Belgium star endured a difficult season at the Etihad Stadium on a personal level due to injury issues.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has taken to Twitter to post an emotional message in which he assesses the season just gone and paid tribute to his teammates and family.

On a personal level, the Belgium international endured a difficult season, missing close to half of the Citizens' Premier League games due to injury, according to Transfermarkt.

Although Man City won the Premier League, League Cup and FA Cup this term, the Champions League unfortunately continues to elude them.

 

De Bruyne's hat-trick of assists in the quarter-final second leg against Tottenham Hotspur helped seal a 4-3 win on the night but was not enough to stop Pep Guardiola's side from being knocked out of the tournament on away goals.

With Man City's season concluding last Saturday with their FA Cup final hammering of Watford, he posted the following tweet on Wednesday:
