The Citizens and Belgium star endured a difficult season at the Etihad Stadium on a personal level due to injury issues.
Although Man City won the Premier League, League Cup and FA Cup this term, the Champions League unfortunately continues to elude them.
De Bruyne's hat-trick of assists in the quarter-final second leg against Tottenham Hotspur helped seal a 4-3 win on the night but was not enough to stop Pep Guardiola's side from being knocked out of the tournament on away goals.
With Man City's season concluding last Saturday with their FA Cup final hammering of Watford, he posted the following tweet on Wednesday:
Season is over again. Number 10 is in the bag. It has been an incredible season again with lots of highs and lots of lows. But we ended it definitely in the right way. Luckily I have an incredible team of brothers that I can play with and a beautiful family behind me. Thank you pic.twitter.com/Q1DKmljaBK— Kevin De Bruyne (@DeBruyneKev) 22 May 2019
Here is how some of the Citizens faithful reacted to De Bruyne's tweet:
