David Seaman believes Arsenal should drop Petr Cech for the Europa League final

Arsenal legend David Seaman has urged Unai Emery to start Bernd Leno ahead of Petr Cech in the final of the Europa League.

David Seaman is interviewed during the UEL Trophy Tour Driven by Kia as it visits London on April 06, 2019 in Stratford, England.

David Seaman discussed his thoughts over Arsenal's goalkeeping situation in Alan Brazil's Sports Breakfast show on Talksport this morning.

The Gunners have reached their first European final in over a decade but Unai Emery has been handed a huge dilemma with regards to his team selection ahead of the game against Chelsea.

Sky Sports reported yesterday that Petr Cech is set to return to Chelsea as their technical director once he hangs up his boots at the end of the season. This caused a major outrage on social media with a number of Arsenal fans demanding that Leno should start over the veteran Czech at Baku.

Arsenal legend David Seaman also urged Emery to drop Cech in favour of Bernd Leno who he claimed would be a part of Arsenal's strongest team.

Seaman said: I know Cech played all the games, but in a final like that, especially against Chelsea, Arsenal need to win this game to get into the Champions League. For me, you play your strongest team, and if that means Leno plays, that’s what I would do."

The legendary English goalkeeper claimed that former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger did the exact same thing in the past and urged Emery to emulate the Gunners' most successful ever manager.

"I know Arsene Wenger did it with me. He did it to Richard Wright, he played all the FA Cup games and then played me in the final. It’s worth lots of millions. It’s huge and they need (to win) to get back in the Champions League."

With the final only a week away, Unai Emery has a huge decision to make but Petr Cech's professionalism isn't something that has ever been questioned in his long and illustrious career in the Premier League.
