Southampton should snap up Max Kruse this summer

The free agent would be a superb addition for Southampton.

Ralph Hasenhuttl the head coach

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl will surely be keen to bolster this ranks at St Mary's this summer, in an effort to build a squad capable of making a push for the top 10 next season.

One area in particular where the Austrian will want to strengthen is his attacking department, with their need for an accomplished goalscorer plain to see.

It is unclear as to how much money the Southampton boss will have at his disposal, however, and he might just have to be thrifty in his player recruitment.

And with this in mind, the Saints should consider a move for German ace Max Kruse, who is available on a free transfer this summer.

The 31-year-old, who has earned 14 international caps for Germany, was in fine form for Werder Bremen this season, racking up 11 goals and 10 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances.

Kruse is highly experienced in playing at the very highest level, and that would surely prove to be a real asset for Southampton.

The German excels when playing with his back to goal, and he would act as a fantastic focal point for Hasenhuttl's side to build their attacking play through.

Kruse's availability on a free transfer makes a move for him an absolute no-brainer for Southampton, and Hasenhuttl must do everything he can to bring him to St Mary's this summer.
