Liverpool will be looking to make signings this summer, having missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City, despite a spirited fight.
The Reds came up just short despite posting the third greatest points tally of the Premier League era, and Jurgen Klopp will be wondering how he can improve his side.
Another striker may just give Liverpool the additional firepower needed to take down City, especially as Daniel Sturridge is leaving this summer and Divock Origi's future remains unclear.
Fans will be dreaming of Timo Werner or an even bigger name, but a new name linked is Werder Bremen's Max Kruse, who will become a free agent next month.
Sport1 in Germany claim that Liverpool are interested in luring Kruse to Anfield, but face competition from Bayern Munich as the 31-year-old receives plenty of interest as a free agent.
Kruse hit 12 goals 14 assists in 36 games for Bremen this season, and he fits the perfectly into Liverpool's front three having played a similar role to Roberto Firmino for years now.
Available for free, Kruse could be a smart signing for Liverpool, but some fans aren't so convinced that a move for the German would bolster Klopp's squad.
A couple of fans compared Kruse to former Reds flop Rickie Lambert, believing that he's too old to make an impact, with many just baffled as to why Klopp would want a 31-year-old free agent.

31? Not happening— KwakuRedman (@APhilkay12) May 20, 2019
I’m not convinced there is anything in the Kruse links. 31 years old, large wage demands and hardly sets the world alight. Goes against everything FSG, but I’ve been wrong before. #LFC— Callum Wright (@CallumWright__) May 20, 2019
Klavan Mark II. Another option while Brewster finds his feet. I wouldn’t rule it out, as underwhelming as it would be......— Iver Hanrahan (@IverHanrahanGP) May 20, 2019
Anyone else understand why on earth we are linked with 31 year old Max Kruse from Werder Bremen??— tom (@thebobbydazler5) May 21, 2019
I certainly hope talks of signing Max Kruse are utter nonsense.— Kevin Chan (@LuckyLukeXO) May 21, 2019
We don't want a repeat of 14/15 and another Rickie Lambert.
Don't get me wrong. I loved Rickie, but he was never a top level player, and had so little impact it was a wasted season for both player & club.
