West Bromwich Albion have opened talks with the Lincoln City manager, Danny Cowley, about becoming Darren Moore's permanent successor (ITV Sport).

Cowley has just led Lincoln to their second promotion in three seasons under his stewardship, having had successful spells at Braintree Town and Concord Rangers beforehand.

The 40-year-old has amassed a substantial list of playing contacts in that time. But which, if any, could he target if he takes the West Brom reigns?

HITC Sport has earmarked FIVE potential targets...

Sean Raggett (Norwich City)

One of Cowley's first signings at Sincil Bank, the pair were together for barely a year before Norwich came calling for Raggett. The towering centre-back returned on loan the season before last, helping the Imps to seventh in League Two, but was farmed out again to Rotherham United, then of the Championship, last summer. With Norwich promoted, Raggett may be on the move once more, while West Brom are likely to strengthen in the 25-year-old's position.

Harry Toffolo (Lincoln)

The left-back was signed by Cowley upon his release by Millwall last summer and played in all-but-three of Lincoln's 55 games throughout 2018/19 - scoring or making 12 goals. Toffolo's position is also one in which West Brom could be looking to add, with the futures of Kieran Gibbs and Conor Townsend uncertain.

Bruno Andrade (Lincoln) and Sammie Szmodics (Colchester United)

West Brom's season stuttered after Harvey Barnes' return to Leicester City as they struggled to replace the attacking midfielder's creativity and flair, and doing so could be among the Baggies' top priorities this summer. Both Andrade, who Cowley plucked from non-league football a year ago, and Szmodics, who scored or made three goals in as many games while on loan at the Londoner's Braintree side, are likely to fit the bill if so.

The former scored or made 19 goals in 50 games throughout 2018/19 and is said to count West Brom's local rivals, Aston Villa among his suitors (Lincolnshire Live), while the latter bettered that tally by nine in two fewer appearances. Unlike Andrade, who has a year left on his Lincoln deal, Szmodics is a free agent this summer and has been strongly linked with Bristol City (East Anglian Daily Times).

Macauley Bonne (Leyton Orient)

It seems half the 92 are after Bonne, who scored 23 goals as Leyton Orient secured the National League title last season. According to Talksport, the 23-year-old, who played eight times for Cowley's Lincoln in 2016, has a £200,000 buy-out clause, which could make Bonne a cost-effective Dwight Gayle replacement.
