Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea-owned Derby County defender Fikayo Tomori.

According to The Daily Record, Celtic are interested in signing Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, but the Hoops will face competition from Derby County.

The report has claimed that Celtic are looking at Tomori as potential summer signing.

 

Successful Derby County loan spell

The 21-year-old central defender is currently on loan at Derby in the Championship in England from Premier League giants Chelsea.

The youngster moved to the Rams on a season-long loan deal in the summer of 2018 and has been an important player in Frank Lampard’s team this campaign.

According to WhoScored, the England Under-21 international has made 45 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Derby this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process, as the Rams have reached the playoff final.

Competition for Celtic

According to The Daily Record, Derby manager Lampard is keen to have the youngster back at the Pride Park Stadium for the 2019-20 campaign should his side win the Championship playoff final against Aston Villa at Wembley Stadium in London this month and clinch promotion to the Premier League.
