Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper David Raya has been linked with Brentford.

According to the Lancashire Telegraph, Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper David Raya is expected to remain at the club this summer despite interest from fellow Championship club Brentford.

It is said the Bees are weighing up a move for Raya this summer as they look to fix their goalkeeping situation.

Brentford number one Dan Bentley has reportedly attracted interest and, with his contract set to expire in 12 months, the Bees may feel inclined to sell him now rather than lose him on a free next summer.

Raya has been Blackburn’s number one for the majority of the campaign, yet he was left out of the final four games of the season as manager Tony Mowbray opted for Jayson Leutwiler.

Leutwiler’s impressive displays have persuaded Mowbray to extend his contract for a further 12 months. It leaves Raya now fighting for his position as number one at Ewood Park.

The report, however, claims Blackburn insist they have not received an official bid for Raya, nor are they in talks over a potential sale. The club expect him to stay and retain his position in goal.

The 23-year-old signed a contract extension last summer and his current deal expires in 2021. The Barcelona-born shot-stopper has made over 100 appearances for Rovers, and his best days are still ahead of him.
