Spurs-linked Julian Brandt a huge fan of 'fantastic' Son Heung-min

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Julian Brandt.

Tottenham Hotspur will surely end their long, long wait for a new signing this summer, as Mauricio Pochettino will have a number of signings in mind.

With no additions since January 2018, Spurs need reinforcements this summer, and another creative winger appears to be one target for Pochettino and co.

Bayer Leverkusen ace Julian Brandt is one name linked, though Sky Sports report that it's more likely that he'll be joining Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Spurs should still do everything within their power to secure Brandt given his £21.5million release clause, and a reunion with Son Heung-min should be appealing too.

Brandt and Son played together at Leverkusen before Son was sold to Spurs in 2015, and 23-year-old Brandt commented on his former teammate last summer.

The pair faced off as South Korea beat Germany at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and Brandt hailed Spurs hero Son as a 'fantastic' player whilst speaking to Bundesliga.com, whilst adding that he rates him highly as a player and as a person.

“He was a fantastic player [at Leverkusen], and has been at least as good for his new club, Tottenham,” said Brandt. “He's capable of playing off both feet, and is quick and dangerous in front of goal. Although he's nominally a wide player, he scored and created a lot of goals in Leverkusen.”

“He's a fantastic character off the field, too: I was very good friends with him. When a player goes elsewhere, you don't have quite as much contact – that's normal – but Heung-Min is someone who I really rate as both a player and a person,” he added.

If Spurs can somehow pull off a deal to bring Brandt to North London ahead of Dortmund, then he could really strike a dangerous combination with Son once again, having previously done so with Leverkusen.

A deal won't be easy, but having the creativity, goals and understanding of Brandt and Son behind Harry Kane could take Spurs to another level, meaning a deal of just £21.5million is worth throwing everything at for Tottenham.
