Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with Liverpool attacking midfielder Adam Lallana.
It has been reported that the 31-year-old has no future at Anfield under manager Jurgen Klopp, and that the England international has told his friends that he would be ready to move back to the Saints.
Lallana started his professional club football career at Southampton and played for the Saints until 2014 before earning the move to Liverpool.
The attacking midfielder has not been a huge success at Anfield, and injuries have impended the impact the 31-year-old could have made.

Lots of rumours circulating of Lallana wanting a Southampton return and us possibly interested.. the idea of that potentially happening aaand us signing Ings on a permanent from them would be a turn up for the books. #Saintsfc pic.twitter.com/sj2imDDwf1— Kingsland_Saint (@Lee_2487) May 18, 2019
Can’t we get Redz, Lallana, Lookman behind Ings that wouldn’t be bad would it. #saintsfc— Ryan Taylor (@Ryan_SaintsFC) May 18, 2019
Lallana wants to come back to saints, Nah you made your choice over money, now you cant get a game you want to come back to us, jog on— james (@james19402899) May 18, 2019
Ignoring his attitude and how he left , I think he's too old and too injury prone, you say no risk but I think he poses more then too much risk with his fitness. I think the money and especially wages can be spent much more wisely. #SaintsFC— Chris Ring (@RingySFC) May 20, 2019
He left to achieve bigger things, what is wrong with that? He used to live In Bournemouth as a lad so of course he’s going to say he’s a Bournemouth lad through and through. He would walk straight into our team and would improve it massively. #SaintsFC— Bateman (@96Callumboy96) May 20, 2019
No qualms in taking him back. Class player, worth the money, if can keep him fit— Martin Moore (@MartinMoore121) May 20, 2019
No thanks. He’s crocked and left under the wrong circumstances, I would much rather see us put the money towards a young player. Let him go to his beloved Bournemouth— (@Saint2hotty) May 20, 2019
I think his talent has been wasted at Liverpool and would improve again back at Southampton but he doesn't really fit into Ralph's ethos of signing young players to their 1st or 2nd contract. This this is more of a rumour. Plus Liverpool can have Ings back imo— Rich Prosser (@RichProsser) May 20, 2019
I would not have him back. Look to the future with our academy and bring in some decent young talent.— Steve Johnson (@SteveJo14152200) May 20, 2019
Meanwhile, Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier believes that 18-year-old striker Michael Obafemi will play a prominent role for the Saints next season, and told Sky Sports: "I think we still need someone else up there other than Danny Ings as a good all-round option.
"With his injury problems it is always good to have someone there and you tend to play 4-4-2 towards the end of the season.
"Shane Long works his socks off for the team and Michael Obafemi will feature a lot more next season, but he is very young and has a lot to do still."
