Liverpool had been linked with a deal for the young left-back.
Liverpool have missed out on the signing of Bristol City youngster Lloyd Kelly.
Kelly joined for £13 million, becoming Bournemouth's first deal of the summer.
The England under-20 captain hopes to compete straight away for a starting spot for The Cherries.
At Liverpool he would have been merely a back up for Andy Robertson, however there is a place which needs to be filled behind him, with Alberto Moreno no longer seen as up to the required standard.
Liverpool do have a young talented left-back of their own, Adam Lewis, who will benefit from their decision not to sign Kelly.
However, this could be a big chance missed to sign one of England's top young talents, and if that is the case, it's an opportunity missed.
Here is a look at how Liverpool fans reacted to the reports...
Bournemouth have completed the signing of Lloyd Kelly from Bristol City for £13M. Have to say I’m gutted Liverpool didn’t go and get this lad signed, I feel like we’ve definitely missed out, However I wish Kelly luck at Bournemouth, it’s a great signing for them #LFC— Grant Shepherd (@Grant1Shepherd) May 18, 2019
Also btw, shocked Kelly went to Bournemouth. It was very well known that Liverpool were planning on buying him. Player has chosen well imo. He needs regular football. #LFC— Lewis (@Lewis_Gossling) May 19, 2019
Nice of Us to let Bournemouth have 2 seasons worth of Lloyd Kelly before we sign him #LFC— Cllm Smrvll (@Callum__LFC) May 18, 2019
So Lloyd Kelly has signed for Bournemouth for £13m?— Biggies MaIIs (@MoMoneyMoSaIah) May 18, 2019
Understandable we’ve missed out really, #LFC were never going to spend 65% of their summer transfer budget on him.
We just can’t compete against other PL clubs that throw that kind of cash around.
If he’s signed for Bournemouth, he isn’t good enough for Liverpool.— Hodge (@paulleigh1966) May 18, 2019
Think there are other young full-backs in the EFL who are well worth looking at with Lloyd Kelly seemingly off the table; James Justin at Luton is going to go very far in the game and can play both RB & LB. I'm all for us giving Adam Lewis an opportunity otherwise. #LFC— The Kopinion (@The_Kopinion) May 18, 2019
Lloyd Kelly seemed to be the one potential transfer we though might happen. So now we're entirely in the dark on our targets. It's great. Going to get maybe 3/4 Fabinhos this summer. #LFC— Karl (@KMacoftheKop) May 18, 2019
