Olympiakos will send Roderick Miranda back to Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, with SDNA claiming that manager Pedro Martins has no interest in snapping up the on-loan centre-back on a permanent basis.
Miranda joined Wolves from Rio Ave in the summer of 2017 for a fee of £2.5 million, according to the Sun. But, while Nuno Espirito Santo’s side cruised to the Championship title, the 28-year-old struggled to make a positive impression with his weaknesses left exposed again and again.
So it was no surprise when the Midland giants decided to send Miranda out on loan to Olympiakos last summer.
But it seems that the former Portugal U20 international is on his way back to the Black Country after a rather difficult season in Greece.
Miranda started just seven Super League games for Olympiakos and made another two appearances in the Europa League. And SDNA claims that he has no future at Piraeus after failing to convince his coach.
Interestingly, the Birmingham Mail suggested last week that Miranda could be offered a second chance at Wolves with Nuno Espirito Santo fully aware that he needs some more depth in his squad with a testing Europa League campaign looming.
