Champioship outfit Nottingham Forest reportedly wanted to sign former Middlesbrough forward Stuani last summer from La Liga outfit Girona.

One of Europe’s most reliable goalscorers is available for just £6 million this summer – and that cannot pass Nottingham Forest by.
At the age of 32, it’s fair to say Cristhian Stuani is something of a late bloomer. The Uruguayan international was far from a prolific source of goals at Espanyol and he spent much of his two years at Middlesbrough in an ill-fitting right-wing role.
But since joining Girona in 2017, Stuani has gone from work-horse to talisman. He netted 21 times for the Catalan club last season, their first in La Liga, and he found the net on another 20 occasions during 2018/19.
This is despite the fact that Girona were relegated on the final day of the campaign. Even Stuani’s remarkable record couldn’t keep them up.

And, according to Sport, a return to the Segunda means Stuani’s release clause has now been halved, dropping to just £6 million. What an opportunity this is then for a Nottingham Forest side who missed out on the Championship play-offs with only one of their strikers scoring more than five times in the league.
TEAMtalk reported last summer that Forest were interested in bringing Stuani to the City Ground. And, at £6 million, he deserves a second chance in England.
