According to The Daily Mail, Huddersfield Town have made an approach for Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Kieren Westwood to replace Everton-bound Jonas Lossl.

It has been reported that Everton have held talks with Lossl, who is leaving Huddersfield on a free transfer this summer.

The Terriers, who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League, have identified Wednesday goalkeeper Westwood as a potential replacement for the 30-year-old Denmark international, according to the report.

However, according to The Daily Mail, the 34-year-old Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper will stay at the Owls and not join Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield.

Sheffield Wednesday stay

Westwood has re-established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at Wednesday, and he seems to be a very valued member in manager Steve Bruce’s side.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the former Sunderland goalkeeper is out of contract at Wednesday this summer, but The Star has reported that the Championship club will activate a clause in his contract that will see him stay for one more year.
