Liverpool are reportedly interested in the Manchester United flop.
A lot of Liverpool fans on Twitter seem open to the idea of signing former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay this summer.
According to Mercato365, Liverpool scouted the Netherlands star for Lyon last weekend.
The 25-year-old, who left Manchester United in 2017, has netted eight goals and set up another nine in 27 Ligue 1 starts this season.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp may want another wide option after what’s been a lukewarm first season at Anfield for Xherda Shaqiri, who joined last summer.
Here’s how Liverpool fans reacted to the idea of signing the ex-Red Devil:
What’s with everyone saying “no”? Have people learned nothing? If Klopp wants a player, the answer is unequivocally “YES. Get him in here yesterday.”— Just Some Guy (@jeremylatzke) May 17, 2019
I’d take him— simon watling (@watling_simon) May 17, 2019

100% – woukd thrive under Klopp— Ibrahim Khachab (@khachabibrahim) May 17, 2019
One thousand percent— Jaisal Singh (@jaisal_97) May 17, 2019
For the right price then yeah, same as shaq really in that I wouldn’t have paid a huge amount for him but he can definitely come in and improve the squad— Colin freeman (@keeweeman) May 17, 2019
The former PSV Eindhoven star joined United in 2015 but managed a disappointing two Premier League goals in 33 outings, failing to justify his £25 million transfer fee.
There is no denying that Depay is a talent, but questions were raised about his attitude during his stint in the Premier League.
Klopp is a disciplinarian and unless the German feels as if he could mould Depay into a player deserving to represent this Liverpool squad, a transfer probably won’t happen.
