Kyle Bartley has told Swansea City that he wants to leave the Liberty Stadium this summer.
Bartley was fantastic during a loan spell at Leeds United in 2016/17 and the YEP claims that the Championship underachievers are desperate to bring him back to Elland Road.
It is understood that Leeds hope they can sign the former Arsenal youngster for a fee of £4 million, which would make him the club’s second most expensive signing in the last 16 years behind Adam Forshaw, who cost £4.5 million from Middlesbrough in January.
The YEP adds that Rangers, who Bartley played 30 games for between 2011 and 2012, are also in the running for the defender's signature with new manager Steven Gerrard leading a revolution of the Scottish giants’ squad.
Rangers have not exactly spent big in recent years, but it seems chairman Dave King has accepted that he must back Gerrard in the transfer market.
But the YEP believes that Bartley sees Leeds as his first choice ahead of Rangers and the West Yorkshire giants hope to announce his return early in the summer transfer window.
