Reported Celtic and Rangers target Lawrence Shankland has confirmed he's on the move this summer.
The Scottish hitman, who has netted 34 goals across all competitions for the Championship side this past season, is out of contract at Ayr United.
Wales Online have previously reported that Celtic will be interested in signing the 23-year-old, who admitted in December [BBC's Off the Ball radio program] that he had 'unfinished business' at Ibrox after being released by Rangers earlier in his career.
His Championship form is bound to have at least interested Celtic and the Gers, though there might be plenty of other big sides looking at him too.
Here is what Shankland - who helped United finish fourth last season - posted on Twitter on Friday:
Most enjoyable two seasons of my career so far and a time I’ll definitely not forget. Thanks to all my team mates and the staff and wish everyone at @AyrUnitedFC all the best for the future ⚽️ https://t.co/eAAJF3l1vj pic.twitter.com/sUyelZ0kLo— Lawrence Shankland (@Shankland_25) May 17, 2019
Celtic and Rangers might need a new goalscorer this summer.
The Hoops will only have Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths by way of strikers, having failed to replace Moussa Dembele, while Steven Gerrard might well bid farewell to Blues marksman Alfredo Morelos following a goal-laden season which could attract bigger fish, as it did with Dembele.
The risk is that Shankland isn't proven in the top flight, but being so prolific in the Championship means that he might be worth a punt, especially as a Bosman.
