Aleksandr Golovin’s agent Sandor Varga has told Russian media outlet Nevasport that Tottenham and Arsenal are interested in signing his client.

The 22-year-old joined Monaco from CSKA Moscow in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth €30 million (£26 million) according to Goal, but he has struggled for the French outfit, racking up just three goals and three assists in 33 appearances in all competitions.

His agent Sandor Varga has told Russian media outlet Nevasport that his client is still hot property, however, with Tottenham and Arsenal amongst a list of club’s currently monitoring his situation.

The 26-capped Russia international is an attacking midfielder by trade, and he excels when deployed in the number 10 role.

And despite his recent struggles, Golovin would be a useful addition for either Spurs or the Gunners.

Tottenham will need to add more depth to their attacking options this summer, especially if Christian Eriksen leaves, and the Russian could be just the ticket.

Arsenal, meanwhile, need more quality in the final third, with Mesut Ozil failing to produce the goods on a consistent enough basis.

And whichever club wins the race for his signature this summer could have a huge bearing on the balance of power in north London.
