Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace have been linked with the Germany attacking midfielder.
Werder Bremen have confirmed Max Kruse's departure just weeks after the attacking midfielder was linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace.
Deich Stube reported mid-April that Tottenham scouts were set to watch Kruse against Bayern Munich, and later credited Palace with interest in the Germany international.
Werder had wanted to extend Kruse's contract beyond the end of this season, and a decision over his future was perhaps not expected so soon.
But the Bundesliga side posted the following tweet on Friday:
Der SV #Werder Bremen wird ohne Max #Kruse in die neue Saison gehen. Der 31-jährige Stürmer wird die Grün-Weißen am Ende der aktuellen Spielzeit verlassen.

Vielen Dank für drei geile Jahre bei uns, Max! Mach es gut!

Although 31, Kruse has been one of the German top flight's standout performers this season, scoring or making 20 goals in 32 games.
And it is that sort of form that should encourage fans of Tottenham or Crystal Palace should he move to either club.
Kruse's national team colleague, Max Meyer, made a free transfer switch to Palace during last summer's transfer window.
Would Kruse be a good addition for Tottenham Hotspur / Crystal Palace?
