The 25-year-old has improved massively this season just gone under the tutelage of Ralph Hasenhuttl, who took the Saints reins in December and helped the club survive in the Premier League.
In 43 appearances in all competitions, Redmond scored nine goals and registered six assists (Transfermarkt), and all of his goals came after Hasenhuttl took over after Mark Hughes's exit.
It marks a superb turnaround for the player, who aside from not netting this season before the Austrian's arrival, also came for some criticism last season - as per a cross-section of Twitter fan reaction from the crucial 1-0 win over Swansea City last May.
Redmond, whose tally of 38 Under-21 caps is England’s third-highest at that level, won his only senior cap to date in a friendly with Germany in March 2017.
It's thus a huge achievement and a sign of a great turnaround for Redmond to be back in the Three Lions squad, and former Premier League and England ace Collymore had some kind words to say to the player:
The Three Lions begin their quest for Nations League silverware at the beginning of June when they travel to Portugal to face Ronald Koeman's Netherlands in the semi-finals and they triumph over the Oranje, Southgate's men will then face either the hosts or Switzerland in the final.
