Could Rangers manager Steven Gerrard hand debuts to the young Ibrox trio?

Three young Rangers talents were spotted training with Steven Gerrard’s first team ahead on Friday.

Defenders Rhys Breen (46) and Lewis Mayo (51), and winger Dapo Meubde (62) each took part in the Gers’ pre-Kilmarnock session, per the following pictures [Rangers: Official website].

And the trio may not have trained in vain, with assistant boss Gary McAllister revealing earlier that Rangers will be without both Nikola Katic and Scott Arfield for their season finale at Rugby Park.

Either Breen or Mayo could step in for Katic, while Arfield’s absence creates space for another attacking player such as Mebude.

Neither Breen, Mayo nor Mebude have ever before played senior football, for Rangers or anyone else.

Meanwhile, Rangers have sent 10 of their other youngsters to this year’s Hong Kong Sevens tournament.

Nicky Hogarth, Jordan Houston, Stephen Kelly, Cameron Palmer, Nathan Paterson, Josh McPake, Andrew Dallas, Daniel Finlayson, Kai Kennedy and Matthew Shiels have all travelled to the far east.
