Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are reportedly hoping to sign Turkey's answer to Sergio Busquetts from La Liga.

London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are battling to sign Celta Viga midfielder Okay Yokuslu this summer, according to Turkish Football.

The highly-rated midfielder only moved to Balaidos from Trabzonspor last summer for around £7 million but he looks set to take another step up after standing out in a team that looks set to narrowly avoid relegation from La Liga.

And Turkish Football believe that he has emerged as a target for Tottenham, who need to replace Mousa Dembele, and a West Ham side whose midfield has been stretched by long-term injuries to Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez.

Yokuslu is famed for his tough tackling nature, a reflection of the fact he has picked up 10 yellow cards in his debut season in Spain, while he averages 4 interceptions and 2.8 tackles per game.

But the 11-time Turkish international is also technical enough to fit in under a manager like Mauricio Pochettino and Manuel Pellegrini, possessing an excellent passing range and plenty of composure on the ball.

The comparisons with Barcelona great Sergio Busquets, as highlighted last year by AS when West Ham were first linked, make perfect sense.
