According to a report from BBC Sport, Tottenham star Christian Eriksen could still sign a new contract, but it would include a clause allowing him to be sold to either Real Madrid or Barcelona.

The 27-year-old's current deal with Spurs expires in the summer of 2020, and the Express reports that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is keen to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Eriksen is a vitally important player for Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham side, but the north London outfit could be forced into selling him this summer, rather than risk losing him for nothing next year.

According to a report from BBC Sport, however, the Denmark international could still commit to a new long-term deal with Spurs, although any contract would include a clause that would allow him to join either Real Madrid or Barcelona if they made an approach for his services.

If Eriksen does end up leaving Tottenham, Pochettino must spend big to replace the Dane, but whether he will be backed accordingly by Daniel Levy remains to be seen.
