However, Nottingham Forest fans do not want to back Derby County to beat Aston Villa in the play off final.
Nottingham Forest fear that Aston Villa earning promotion will see Joe Lolley taken from them.
Villa have been linked with Lolley throughout the campaign, and the Forest man supports the claret and blues.
There is now a genuine fear around Forest that Dean Smith’s side could come for their main playmaker if they win at Wembley in two weekends’ time.
But Forest fans also are not keen on the idea of Derby County winning the play off final, leaving them stuck between a rock and a hard place.
sort of but if Villa go up, very likely they will make a bid for Lolley and he will go… so obviously don’t want Derby to go up but similarly don’t want Lolley to go…— Oliver Barker (@Olliebarkerwu) May 16, 2019
Do I want Villa to go up so Derby don’t, or Derby to go up so Villa don’t.— Adam T (@AJBeaks) May 16, 2019
If Derby go up life will be hell.
If Villa go up they will take Lolley and next season will be a disaster. Arghhhhh!!!!#NFFC
Wonder how much we will get for Lolley when Villa go up. #NFFC— James Taylor (@jamesiantaylor) May 14, 2019
Snap. Pants. Shit. Come on Villa…..although I’m paranoid that if Villa win they’ll take Lolley..! Think I’d rather see the sheep try to beat 11pts than lose Lolley— Ian Harding (@IanHarding111) May 15, 2019
Option 3 could be direby go up and villa still sign lolley— Greg (@gregnffcwatson) May 14, 2019
If tomorrow goes horribly wrong…— Lucy (@Lucy_Kenyon) May 14, 2019
My theory on who I want to win the play offs obviously either dirty Leeds or Derby to lose in the final if villa go up I’d expect them to come in for lolley and the lure of premiership football might be a tempter for him so even though they cheated us out of 2 points I’ll go wba— @forest4eversteve (@biltonsteve) May 11, 2019
Losing Lolley would be a huge blow for Forest, as he had such a brilliant campaign at the City Ground last term.
Lolley was Forest’s main source of creativity, but he also scored regularly.
If he was to move to Villa he could enhance Smith’s attacking options, and that switch could appeal given Lolley’s allegiances to the Villans.
