Ozyakup spent four years at Arsenal between 2008 and 2012 but returned to Turkey with Besiktas after making just two first-team appearances under Arsene Wenger.
The 26-year-old has since matured into a reliable and commanding midfielder with 37 caps for his country. Ozyakup also led Besiktas to the Super Lig title in 2016 and 2017.
Now, Aksam claims that Everton are interested in signing the dynamic play-maker as Marco Silva looks to reinforce his midfield, while Valencia, Marseille and Coppa Italia winners Lazio are also watching closely.
And it seems that Besiktas are ready to take a chance to cash in on their long-serving skipper, given that Ozyakup started just 10 league games in 2018/19. Aksam claims that they could accept as little as £5.2 million.
This is not the first time Ozyakup has been linked with a move to Goodison Park. Hurriyet reported last summer that Everton were thinking about triggering his £10.5 million release clause – one year on, however, it seems he will be available for half that fee.
