Tottenham Hotspur may miss out on winger Julian Brandt.
According to Sky Sports, Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt prefers a move to Borussia Dortmund over Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Brandt, 23, has been one of the top talents in German football since coming through with Leverkusen, and he’s attracting interest off the back of this season.
With nine goals and 17 assists, Brandt has been a key player for Leverkusen, and clubs are seemingly queueing up to activate the £21.5million release clause in his contract.
Sky Sports report that Tottenham Hotspur are keen to sign Brandt, but he’s preferring staying in the Bundesliga over a move to the Premier League.
It’s stated that Brandt wants to stay with Leverkusen if they finish in the Champions League places this season, and even if he does move on, he’d rather join Borussia Dortmund than Spurs.
With Euro 2020 coming up next summer, Brandt seemingly doesn’t want to take a huge gamble and risk missing out on a spot in the German national team next summer.
Spurs subsequently look set to miss out on a bargain deal for Brandt, leaving Mauricio Pochettino to look elsewhere in his pursuit of new signings.
