Aston Villa reached the play-off final on Tuesday night by beating West Brom on penalties.
Mark Bosnich has backed Aston Villa to earn promotion to the Premier League after they reached the play-off final on Tuesday night by beating West Brom on penalties.
The former Villa goalkeeper also praised star man Jack Grealish for staying on at the club last summer after they lost the play-off final to Fulham last May.
Once again, The Midlands giants find themselves in a similar situation to last season, but this time around they will be hoping to go one better and make a return to England's top-flight.
There is no doubt that Villa desperately crave a return, and if that doesn't happen then Bosnich admitted and warned that he can see Grealish leaving in the summer.
"The fact he stayed says a lot about him because it would have been easy for him to move on," Bosnich told TalkSport. "But if it happens again for the second season they may be left with no choice, both player and the club.
“I think Aston Villa can go up this time. I watched them against Leeds in that famous game when Bielsa let Villa score that equaliser - I really fancy Aston Villa to go through.”
Considering Grealish's age, talent and England ambitions, some supporters may say that whatever happens in these next few weeks, Grealish will be a Premier League player next term - with or without his boyhood club.
Grealish will want to do it with Villa and if they are to get over the line then his performance in the final is absolutely crucial to their success.
Dean Smith's side will meet Derby County in the final at Wembley on May 27th after they beat Leeds United in the most dramatic of fashions on Wednesday night.
