Keanu Reeves has enjoyed a successful and varied career, starring in some big-name films in the process
Keanu Reeves has had a long and varied acting career over the past 30 years. All of his work to date is culminating in this month’s release of John Wick: Chapter 3, a rip-roaring action adventure that sees the one-man army that is John Wick take on the entire hitman underworld as he battles to survive.
The third instalment in the John Wick trilogy opens in cinemas on May 15 in the UK and May 17 in the US and the early reactions are already overwhelmingly positive.

Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989)
Up first in our list is the film that brought Keanu Reeves to the forefront of Hollywood, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
The film sees two school slackers turn their fortunes around as they travel back in time to assemble an incredible line-up of historical figures for their school history presentation.
The film was followed up with a sequel, Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991) and a TV show, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventures which ran for one 13-episode season in 1990.
Keanu Reeves looks set to return to the series for a third instalment, Bill and Ted Face the Music, set to release in 2020.
Point Break (1991)
Reeves has never shied away from an action role and that’s certainly evident in 1991’s Point Break.
In the film, Reeves stars alongside Patrick Swayze as the pair team up in a buddy cop action thriller, looking to take down a group of bank robbers known as the ‘ex-presidents’ who were masks depicting the faces of former US presidents.
More recently, this film was brought to light in hilarious fashion in Edgar Wright’s Hot Fuzz which pays tribute to Point Break several times. throughout the film
Continuing his surge to fame in the mid-90s, Reeves appeared in the thrilling critical and financial success that is Speed.
What appears to be a simple premise at first turns out to be a stroke of genius. Reeves plays an LAPD cop who tries to rescue passengers on a bus that’s rigged to explode if it slows to below 50mph.
The film is regarded as one of the best in action genre and even went as far as winning two Academy Awards in 1995 for Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing.
The Matrix (1999)
Keanu Reeves’ most famous role however, has to be in the dystopian sci-fi action thriller, The Matrix and its two sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.
As the lead character, Neo, Reeves was put directly in the Hollywood spotlight as one of the premier action heroes in the business.
Of course, Keanu Reeves had to appear in a film with the same name as his.
While Reeves may not play a major role in the film as such, his appearance in the Key and Peele led movie is certainly worth mentioning.
The films follows two men as they enter into a gang war to reclaim their lost cat which is actually the property of a gang leader. Reeves’ scene in the film can be viewed below.
Toy Story 4 (2019)
While yes, Toy Story 4 is in fact not out yet, it’s surely going to be one of the biggest films to hit cinemas this summer so its inclusion felt justified.
The fourth instalment in the Toy Story series see Keanu Reeves take on the voice acting role for Duke Caboom, an Evel Knievel inspired stuntman toy.
Fans of Keanu Reeves will definitely be looking at John Wick: Chapter 3 to continue what has been an illustrious career and that, you have to say, is more than likely.
