Report: Norwich want to sign £8.5m Lorient striker Alexis Claude-Maurice

Premier League newcomers Norwich City reportedly want the Ligue 2 hotshot, as do Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt and Ligue 1 high-flyers Lille.

Norwich City are interested in reinforcing their Premier League bound attack with Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice, according to France Football.

Daniel Farke’s Canaries cruised to the Championship title but it remains to be seen how many of their cleverly constructed squad will make the step up to the Premier League, though the Anglian outfit not expected to ‘do a Fulham’ and spend huge sums on unproven big names.


Norwich will sign a few as they look to avoid a relegation battle, however, and it seems that a club who have a history of picking up little known gems on the free have identified another one.

20-year-old Frenchman Claude-Maurice has been in sublime form for Ligue 2 outfit Lorient this season, scoring 14 goals in the second tier to fire his side into contention for a play-off place.

France Football reports that Norwich will have to pay around £8.5 million for the France U20 international, who has also caught the eye of Champions League-bound Lille and Europa League semi-finalists Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Bundesliga side may have to replace talisman and top scorer Luka Jovic this summer.
