Derby County stunned Leeds with a 4-2 win at Elland Road which booked Frank Lampard’s side a place in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.

If the last two weeks in football have taught us anything, its that it is never truly over until the final whistle blows.
And writing a boasting, presumptions Twitter post claiming that you are ‘on your way to Wembley’ with 90 minutes of a play-off semi-final tie remaining is not exactly the brightest idea.
After all, Leeds United were only one goal up against Derby County after the first leg at Pride Park and, even though The Whites cruised past The Rams home and away in the 2018/19 Championship campaign, no one should have written Frank Lampard’s side off.
In truth, though, many did, proclaiming the tie done and dusted after Kemar Roofe’s goal in the East Midlands.

So no wonder Derby’s players, fans and manager, who even had his name fashioned into a classic Oasis melody by Leeds supporters who took Umbridge with Lampard’s approach to the ‘spygate’ scandal, celebrated in style after a stunning 4-2 win at Elland Road which booked their place at Wembley.
And even if Martyn Waghorn failed to feature in both legs through injury, the Derby striker wasn’t going to miss out on the action on social media. Talk about rubbing salt into the wounds.
