The Rangers supporter is already said to have agreed a move to Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox outfit.

Greg Stewart’s proposed transfer to Rangers appears to have moved a step closer.

The Daily Record reported last month that Rangers have agreed a deal to sign Stewart on a three-year contract.

But despite having already announced the arrivals of Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie and Steven Davis ahead of next season, the Gers have yet to do likewise with the Birmingham City forward.

Confirmation may not be far away though, after the Blues named Stewart among the players leaving St Andrews at the end of their contracts this summer.

Stewart is currently on loan with Rangers’ Premiership rivals Aberdeen, who play their final game of the season on Sunday.

And if Stewart’s move to Ibrox has not been rubber-stamped by then, one suspects it will happen shortly afterwards.

The 29-year-old, who according to the Dundee Evening Telegraph has supported Rangers since childhood, has scored or made 17 goals in 31 league games this season, for Kilmarnock and Aberdeen.

Would Stewart be a good addition for Rangers?
