Dean Smith's Villans saw off West Brom and will face Frank Lampard's Derby County at Wembley for a place in the Premier League.
The Bournemouth ace has been sensational since arriving at Villa Park in January and one of the key elements in the team's surge up the table and into the top six.
Earlier this week, Dean Smith's charges travelled to West Bromwich Albion for the second leg of their playoff semi-final boasting a 2-1 win but were pegged back to 2-2 on aggregate come the end of the 90 minutes.
As no goals were scored in extra time, the game went to penalties and Villa keeper Jed Steer saved the first two spot kicks, which paved the way for Tammy Abraham to rifle home the winner from 12 yards.
Villa now have the chance to avenge their 2017-18 playoff final defeat to Fulham and seal a triumphant return to the Premier League, having meekly dropped out of the top flight three years ago.
With Derby seeing off Leeds United and thus being confirmed as Villa's opponents at Wembley on Monday 27 May, preparations are well and truly under way for both sides.
This is what Mings posted on Twitter:
Some Villa fans responded, with many of those once again urging him to leave the Vitality Stadium and join their club permanently:
