Aston Villa fans on Twitter have hit out at the disgraceful actions from Patrick Bamford after he was booked for diving during Leeds United's play-off semi-final defeat to Derby County on Wednesday night.

Early in the first half, Bamford went down easily in the penalty area despite minimal contact with the referee awarding a free-kick to the Rams and showing the former Chelsea youth product a yellow card.

Bamford's actions have not sat well with the Villa Park faithful because the player deceived the officials during his team's 1-1 draw with Dean Smith's side last month.

Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi was shown a straight red card for an apparent elbow on Bamford, but replays showed that there was no contact whatsoever and Bamford went to ground for no reason, as a result, he was given a two-match ban.

What makes matters worse is that he only returned from that suspension for this second leg tie against Frank Lampard's side and it didn't take him long to get back to his old ways.

Here is a selection of Aston Villa fans slaughtering Bamford for his dive on Twitter:

After a dramatic night at Elland Road, Derby will now face Dean Smith's Aston Villa in the play-off final at Wembley after they beat West Brom on penalties the night before.

The mouthwatering encounter will see Derby manager Lampard coming up against his former Chelsea teammate and now Villa assistant coach John Terry.

John Terry and Frank Lampard watch on during the FA Youth Cup Final, second leg between Chelsea and Mancherster City at Stamford Bridge on April 26, 2017 in London, England.
