West Ham United were incredibly inconsistent this season.

West Ham ace Aaron Cresswell suggested that this season has been up and down for his side, when speaking exclusively to the club's official website.

The Hammers ended up in 10th spot in the Premier League table, having won their final three games of the season, but considering their transfer business last summer, they would have been hoping for better.

Manuel Pellegrini's side endured a miserable start to their season, losing their first four games, so upon reflection, they will not be too disappointed with their 10th placed finish.

More will be expected of West Ham next season, however.

Aaron Cresswell spoke exclusively to the club's official website, and was asked to sum up the Hammers' campaign in just three words:

"Up and down."

West Ham boss Pellegrini will surely be looking to strengthen his squad this summer, but whether he will be backed accordingly by the club's board remains to be seen.

One thing that the Hammers definitely need to improve upon is their performances against the mid-table teams, and if they can address that, they will be in a great position from which to challenge for the top seven next term.
