The Rams were 1-0 down from the first leg of their play-off semi-final, and then fell 2-0 down as Stuart Dallas scored the opener at Elland Road tonight.
Leeds were coasting, but a mistake from Kiko Casilla allowed Jack Marriott to score on the stroke of half time – and within moments of the restart, Mason Mount had brought the score level.
Harry Wilson's penalty remarkably had Derby in front, only for Dallas to grab his second of the night to make it 3-3 and set up a barnstorming finale.
Sadly for Leeds, Gaetano Berardi was sent off, and Derby took full advantage as Marriott dinked over the hapless Casilla to send Derby through 4-3 on aggregate before Scott Malone was sent off for the Rams late on.
Many had written Derby off, but they produced a stunning performance to head into the final, four months after the infamous 'Spygate' row involving Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa.
It's clear that the Derby players haven't forgotten the incident though, as the video below shows players mocking the Spygate saga whilst celebrating in front of the travelling Rams fans.
It didn't stop there though, as playmaker Duane Holmes posted a video to Twitter of boss Frank Lampard and his squad mocking the new Leeds chant inferring Lampard is still crying about Spygate - and the club's official Twitter account joined in too.
