Tottenham are reportedly considering a move for Gareth Bale.

The Sun report Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a move to sign Gareth Bale on loan.

Bale’s high wages mean Real cannot currently find a buyer, and a loan move is something the Spanish giants would consider.

For Tottenham it would be astute business to get a player of Bale’s quality back without committing a transfer fee.

It would be even more symbolic of their progress as a football club.

When Daniel Levy sanctioned Bale’s world record sale in 2013, Tottenham were left floundering, and it took years to recover.

Now they are better than ever, reaching the Champions League final.

Real have won the trophy three times since then and the La Liga title, with Bale’s reputation growing as a result.

If Tottenham can add a proven winner like Bale, it will send a message that they are ready to repeat this year’s terrific campaign, showing they are getting stronger and not weaker.

Bale could be the missing piece Spurs need to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League, show they must be taken seriously and would potentially help attract even more players to the club.
