Sheffield United could reportedly make a surprise move for Sheffield United’s Fernando Forestieri this summer.

Several Sheffield United fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from The Sun on Sunday (12/5; page 59) which suggested that Chris Wilder is interested in signing Fernando Forestieri from Sheffield Wednesday.

The Blades are preparing for life in the Premier League after an outstanding season saw them secure automatic-promotion out of the Championship. They have already released a number of players, and they are now reportedly eyeing quite a surprising signing.

The Sun on Sunday (12/5; page 59) reports that United want to bring Forestieri to Bramall Lane, and the Owls may be tempted to sell for £14 million with the club looking to keep their finances in check.

Forestieri had a mixed season, scoring six goals for Wednesday, including an absolute screamer against title-winners Norwich City towards the end of the campaign.

But it appears that the majority of United fans on social media have no interest in seeing the 29-year-old make the move across the city this summer, especially for that sort of price.

They feel that he is too inconsistent to justify that sort of fee, particularly at the highest level, and are hoping that Wilder does not decide to offer the forward the chance to become the latest man who is able to say that he has played for both clubs in the Steel City.

Here is what some of the supporters make of the reports…
