Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has decided not to offer Callum Roberts a new contract.
Some Newcastle United fans think that Rafael Benitez has made an error by letting Callum Roberts leave.
Roberts has been on the verge of making a breakthrough in Newcastle’s team for some time, but just hasn’t been able to make that final step.
The young winger has trained with Newcastle’s first-team and been on pre-season tours, but he never forced his way into Benitez’s line-up like Sean Longstaff did this season.
Roberts has now been told that his contract at Newcastle will not be renewed.
The young winger confirmed that he had left St. James’ Park on social media last night.
And some Newcastle fans could not hide their disappointment at the decision.
