Aston Villa saw off a spirited challenge from West Bromwich Albion to book a place in the play-off final.
West Brom won the game 1-0, bringing the aggregate score to 2-2. This meant penalties.
Villa won the shootout 4-3, with goalkeeper Jed Steer keeping out both of West Brom’s opening efforts.
Former Villa goalkeeper Mark Bosnich praised his former team on Twitter, and commended Steer’s contribution.
Villa find out their opponents in the play-off final this evening.
Leeds host the second leg against Derby County, already holding a 1-0 advantage.
This is the second year in a row Villa reached the play-off final. Last year they lost to Fulham. Now they have the opportunity to put that right.
