Leeds United take on Derby County in the Championship play-offs this evening, but are expected to be without Kemar Roofe.
The White won the first leg of their semi-final clash 1-0 on Saturday evening, with Roofe pouncing to score the only goal of the game at Pride Park.
Leeds saw Aston Villa beat West Bromwich Albion on penalties on Tuesday night, and whilst they'll be hoping to avoid such a dramatic repeat, they'll want to meet Villa in the final.
Their hopes have been hit by Roofe's apparent absence, even with Patrick Bamford returning from suspension. Roofe picked up a calf injury late on at Derby, and has been ruled out as things stand.
Bizarrely though, commentator Daniel Mann referenced Roofe during the coverage of West Brom versus Villa, stating 'we will have to see on that one' when suggesting that Roofe is out.
Mann's comments have been interpreted two ways after being spotted by a host of Leeds fans; a hint that Roofe may actually be available for tomorrow, or suggesting that Marcelo Bielsa and co aren't being truthful about Roofe's injury.
That's led to differing reactions on Twitter, with some believing that Roofe may well be back tomorrow, feeling that Bielsa may have played mind games with Frank Lampard by ruling his star forward out.
Others were far from impressed at the suggesting that Bielsa may be lying, branding the comments 'ignorant' and out of touch with Bielsa's style, even suggesting he has integrity that Sky Sports don't.
What’s with the doubt from the commentator about Roofe playing tomorrow? Sounded very cynical!— FionaT (@fthom7) May 14, 2019
Why would we be waiting and seeing on whether Roofe is playing or not?? Are these sky commentators really that ignorant to what Bielsa is all about?? I may be wrong but that seemed like they questioning him— HisLady366 (@Lady_Blew_) May 14, 2019
Seems like mind games from bielsa tbh MOT— Regan Taylor (@officialRegan21) May 14, 2019
What’s with the innuendo from Sky Sports commentator that Roofe might not be out tomorrow..???— Jennie Powell (@jenniemay6) May 14, 2019
Why did the Sky commentator say “we’ll see about that” when he said Roofe has been ruled out of the match? #lufc— Thomas Bradley (@TBradley23) May 14, 2019
Noooo! A suggestion from tonight’s commentator that Roofe will play but I’m not convinced. Mind games?— Andrew Burke (@andrewMOT) May 14, 2019
Sky at it again with the "If Roofe is really injured" - They are once again showing how far off the mark they are in not understanding how Bielsa works, while simultaneously getting right in Frank's head.— A Programme About Art (@aprogaboutart) May 14, 2019
