Aston Villa managed to get past West Bromwich Albion on penalties last night, and Dean Smith’s side had Jed Steer to thank.

Aston Villa fans love what Jed Steer did just before penalties took place at the Hawthorns last night.

Steer was Villa’s hero yesterday, as he saved two of West Bromwich Albion’s penalties to help his side progress to Wembley.

And Steer was playing mind-games with West Brom’s Mason Holgate as both players walked to the take their positions for the spot kicks.

The Villa stopper certainly seemed to get in Holgate’s head, as he saved from the right-back to get the claret and blues off to a brilliant start.

And Villa supporters have raved about Steer’s actions, as they feel he was the main reason why they progressed.

Steer actually had some shaky moments in regular time last night, but he made up for any errors in the shoot out.

Villa will now compete in their second play-off final in as many years, as they look to return to the Premier League.

Villa will meet the winner of Leeds United’s match with Derby County, which takes place later this evening, at Wembley.
