Premier League runners-up Liverpool apparently want to strengthen the goalkeeping department at Anfield by signing Turkish shot-stopper Cakir.

Liverpool are interested in signing Trabzonspor ace Ugurcan Cakir. At least, that is what the goalkeeper’s agent has told HaberTurk on Wednesday.
The Turkey U21 international has enjoyed a fine season with the Super Lig side, conceding just 20 goals in 18 games while tallying five clean sheets. He has helped Trabzonspor to fourth in the table with two games remaining.
But it seems unlikely that Cakir will still be playing in his homeland by the time the 2019/20 campaign kicks off.
According to his agent Engin Kirkpinar, Liverpool are looking to bring the 23-year-old to Anfield. German giants Schalke and Ligue 1 outfit Lille, who sealed automatic qualification for the Champions League at the weekend, are also interested.

“Lille and Schalke are interested in Ugurcan, Liverpool also has the idea (of signing him),” said Kirkpinar, while adding that the Premier League runners up have not yet made an official bid.
Should Cakir arrive on Merseyside, he would likely replace long-serving Belgian Simon Mignolet. The former Sunderland ace is expected to leave this summer after growing tired with life on the bench behind Alisson Becker.
Loris Karius, meanwhile, is due to spend next season on loan at Besiktas.
