Everton are reportedly keen on River Plate's Santiago Sosa.

According to Argentinian newspaper Ole, Everton are interested in snapping up River Plate midfielder Santiago Sosa this summer.

The Toffees have brought in a host of South American talents since Marcel Brands arrived as director of football last summer, with Yerry Mina, Bernard and Richarlison all arriving.

Brands may well look to the South American market once again this summer, as River Plate's Sosa appears to be on his radar.

Argentinian newspaper Ole report that Everton have now made contact with the agent of River Plate midfielder Sosa, in the hope of securing his signature.

The 20-year-old talent reportedly has a $15million (£11.5million) release clause in his contract, meaning Everton could bring him to England without breaking the bank.

Sosa is being tipped for a bright future over in Argentina, and with Andre Gomes only on loan, he could be a talent for the coming years at Goodison Park.

The report notes that Sosa may struggle for a work permit, but Everton would hope for a special exception case, much like when they signed Ramiro Funes Mori from River Plate in 2015.
