Liverpool star could even get a new deal.
There has been some uncertainty over the future of James Milner at Liverpool in recent months.
The Express reported just last week that Milner is out of contract at the end of this season.
This is incorrect, report The Times, who state Milner’s current deal runs until June 2020.
Milner’s performances in recent weeks have been so impressive that The Times claims Liverpool want to offer him a new deal.
He is seen by Jurgen Klopp as a key member of the team, and the manager told the club website he believes the veteran is getting even better, “Millie is still making steps,” he said.
A new deal for Milner at Liverpool would mean disappointment for Leeds United supporters.
Whites fans have hoped Milner could finally choose to return to Leeds if they win promotion, Leeds Live reported.
Liverpool missing out on the league title means Milner still has some unfinished business at Anfield.
The decision will ultimately be Milner’s, and Leeds need to go up through the play-offs to even stand a chance.
But Liverpool have given him no need to seek an exit and while he remains wanted by Klopp, it is going to be tough for him to walk away.
