The campaign length for Rage 2 is perfect for those who want to enjoy an open-world campaign while maintaining a social life.
Bethesda’s Rage 2 is now available to buy, and a number of gamers will be happy to hear that its campaign length is mercifully short compared to the vast majority of open-world games on the market.
In opposition to the Doom-esque combat and stunning visuals, Rage 2’s story has been criticised due to coming across as an afterthought.
However, although the campaign isn’t going to win Avalanche any awards for best writing and characters, it’s at least short compared to other open-world video games that overstay their welcome.

Rage 2 campaign length - not too long or too short, but just right
Rage 2 is an open-world video game that has no multiplayer. This means everything you do essentially ties into the campaign.
There’s plenty of side quests for you to check out on the Job Board in the Gunbarrel settlement, but if you want to finish the story without any distractions then Rage 2 lasts between 8-11 hours.
Avalanche's sequel can last over 20 hours if you want to 100% the campaign and stick around for Bethesda’s post-launch line-up of content, but the campaign length is perfect for those who want a short and sweet distraction rather than another 50 hours long blockbuster.
Rage 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
