Barnsley, Peterborough, Bury, Bristol Rovers and Plymouth are eyeing moves for highly-rated AFC Fylde goalkeeper Jay Lynch on a free transfer, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Lynch is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers outside the Football League after impressing at Fylde during the last two seasons in the National League.
The 26-year-old enjoyed another outstanding season for Fylde this term, keeping 21 clean sheets and helping the club reach the National League Play-Off final only to lose to Salford.
Lynch, who has been named in the National League Team of the Year for the last three years, is out of contract at Fylde this summer and his suitors are ready to pounce for the athletic shot-stopper on a free transfer.
Newly-promoted Barnsley are keen to bolster their goalkeeping options this summer in case they lose Adam Davies, and Lynch is on their list of targets, while Peterborough, Bury, Bristol Rovers and Plymouth are also in the market for goal-keeping reinforcements.
Lynch started his career at Manchester United before joining Bolton Wanderers, where he progressed through the youth ranks, and was named on bench for three Premier League games for the Trotters during the 2011/12 season.
