There are plenty more Keanu Reeves movies on the way.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is finally here and luckily there are more Keanu Reeves movies on the way to keep us satisfied. The popular performer is best known for the role of Neo in The Matrix trilogy but has starred in such revered efforts as River’s Edge, My Own Private Idaho and Point Break. As you’ll know, these listed films are earlier productions in his career, and since then, he hasn’t exactly been front-and-centre for multiplex audiences. However, John Wick changed that; perhaps permanently.
Chad Stahelski’s 2014 action romp boasted an emotional centre while also allowing Reeves to truly shine as a physical performer. It was the sleeper hit of the year, with audiences eventually flocking to see it as a result of word of mouth. When the end of the year rolled around, numerous critics and film fans heralded it as one of the year’s best, and hopes for a sequel were powerful enough to reward us with John Wick: Chapter 2.
The 2017 sequel witnessed the return of both Reeves and Stahelski, who are justifiably regarded as one of action cinema’s greatest duos of late. Chapter 2 amplified the action, the bloodshed and the creative spectacle, ditching emotional resonance for an overwhelming, sensory experience. It was a significant success, which brings us to one of the year’s most anticipated movie events, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. It’s sure to be yet another huge hit for everyone involved, but afterwards, we’ll all be keen to check out what Reeves has in store next…
As it turns out, Reeves has a range of projects in the pipeline. The most notable is Pixar’s Toy Story 4, in which the actor will voice Duke Caboom. It’s expected to be the final instalment in the series, and if the third film is anything to go by we’d recommend having tissues at the ready for this one; tears of sadness, happiness and laughter are inevitable.
With a scheduled release date of June 21, 2019, though, we have Always Be My Maybe to enjoy beforehand. This comedy which centres upon two childhood friends who fall in love when they grow up is scheduled for release on May 31, with Reeves confirmed to star.
Looking forward to 2020, we have the highly anticipated Bill & Ted Face the Music. Both Reeves and Alex Winter are reprising their iconic roles long after the events of Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.
The California slackers are now middle-aged dads, and of course, they’re still attempting to chase a hit song. Little else is known about the plot but considering they’re both so excited to return we simply cannot wait for this one; sadly, we’ll have to up until August 21, 2020.

Next up, it looks like Reeves has something completely different lined up. He’ll appear in The Starling alongside Isla Fisher (The Beach Bum), as a man coming to terms with the passing of his baby daughter whilst working to save his relationship. It sounds like a devastating and affecting drama and comes courtesy of director Dome Karukoski (Tolkien). There’s currently no release date, but we’re definitely intrigued by its promise.
We then have Olivier Megaton’s (Taken 2) Rally Car, an appropriately titled project set to depict a rally car race in China; it appears that Reeves has snagged the lead role. So, as you can see, there’s plenty for Keanu fans to look forward to after John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is unleashed in cinemas.
