Sheraldo Becker’s oustanding Eredivisie season has apparently caught the eye of Championship underachievers Boro.

Middlesbrough are looking to reinforce their toothless attack by signing the in-form ADO Den Haag winger Sheraldo Becker, according to the Teesside Gazette.

A lack of cutting edge was the primary reason why Tony Pulis’s side missed out on a place in the Championship play-off places this season with even relegated Rotherham United scoring more than their 49 goals in 46 league games.

As a result, Boro are desperate to add some speed and creativity in the final third with the Gazette claiming that they have been keeping close tabs on Becker for a while now.

The former Ajax starlet has enjoyed an outstanding season for ADO, scoring eight times and providing 11 assists in all competitions.

In fact, no player has created as many goals for their teammates since the turn of the year (eight).

The report adds that Middlesbrough have been impressed with the forward’s rapid pace and ability to leave opposition full-backs with a nasty case of twisted blood.

But, with his contract expiring in June, Boro won’t be the only club keeping an eye on Becker’s availability. Interestingly, Becker is represented by Mino Raiola, the super-agent who also counts Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba among his more high-profile clients.
